Do you enjoy your job?

I dread going to work every day now!!! I'm desperate to find a new career but I wonder if I'm being unrealistic and if everyone hates going to work but just get on with it. Do any of you REALLY love going to work and if so what do you do?

I studied for seven years and at the top of my profession (as high as I want to be)
I live in a area of quite high unemployment and am probably very lucky to have the job. Very good salary and hours.

But the is a nasty culture / spiteful and unprofessional. I am also bored of the role and want out. But there the best part of two decades.

I don't enjoy it but I don't hate it either xxx

I have just started a new role I hate and really regret leaving my old one. Same company EA role but this is 100x more demanding and busy than my old one. I thought I was bored and wanted a new challenge but at least in my old role I had headspace to think and enjoy my outside life.
All I can think about now is work and it is really impacting my life outside work as I cannot find time to do anything apart from stress about the demands of the job Shock

Yes
I enjoy it, it's rewarding (although not hugely well paid), I never dread going in, it uses my qualifications and experience. Commute could be a bit shorter, and the parking is fire and expensive, but marks out of 10 = 9.5. Civil engineer, large public body.

I work in the elderly care sector and genuinely love going to work. I'm a senior member of staff and that scares me a lot the time but, I never clock watch and my work makes me feel really good inside.

Another satisfied project manager here.

Public sector construction.

Yeah, on the whole I do really enjoy it. I'm a Careers Advisor and Project Co-ordinator fir careers focused education in secondary schools. I have always worked in employment/training advice and guidance in some capacity, but moved into working with kids after having my own. The work is varied and quite fast paced, I like my colleagues and I LOVE the young people, they make me die laughing every day.

I genuinely do love my job and can honestly say I never wake up thinking 'oh god I've got to go to work'. I retrained in my thirties and am so glad I did, it's been hard work getting here but worth it (I'm a midwife sonographer and clinical teaching fellow)

gingertigercat · 18/08/2017 22:58

Yes. I find the work interesting and challenging and have the most lovely colleagues.

Absolutely change if you're not happy. Life is too short.

grumpysquash3 · 19/08/2017 13:07

I love my job. I am a scientist working in cancer drug discovery - I have a team and am a project manager. 15 min commute, decent pay.

Musicaltheatremum · 19/08/2017 21:28

I'm a GP of 25 years in same practice. Love my colleagues and my staff are amazing. Hate the pressure we are under. 7 years ago 55 applicants for one job. Now 3 and we are lucky. Love the job though we are so privileged.
