Interviews in late August - genuine vacancies?

I'm currently looking for a new job. I've been in my present role for nearly two years after many years of being a SAHM followed by freelance work. While my job was great in that it got me back into a more formal working environment, I'm now bored ... I'm doing things I've been able to do for nearly 30 years and there's very little variety in my day to day work.

There's little opportunity to progress internally as my current team is very stable an the organisation is so large roles here become very niche so if I stay too long I won't have the skills I'll need in order to go elsewhere.

I've seen a couple of potential jobs being advertised but both have interviews in late August and higher than usual salary for the job title. DH suspects they're not genuine vacancies and they've already got someone lined up, hence interviewing when hardly anyone's around. Does that sound likely?

Some people go on holiday at the end of August I'm not sure that's 90% of the working age population! Of course go for the interview.

We are recruiting (some interviews next week), end August could be so that the interviewers are all back from holiday, not sure why they would not be genuine tbh

Sometimes that's just when the vacancy is! People leave and companies expand etc at any time of year!
