Any School Dinnerladies out there? Help Please!

I'm a school dinner lady (or Midday Supervisor if you prefer that term) and I want to hand in my notice.

Does anyone know how much notice I have to give?

We're in a large primary school with a team of about 15 dinnerladies (not the ones in the canteen, but the ones on the playground, etc) and I am a 'general' dinner lady as opposed to a 1-to-1 dinner lady who looks after a child with SEN.

I know the 1-to-1's have to give notice of at least 2 weeks and it is preferred that they stay on until a replacement is found, but I have no idea how much notice a general dinner lady has to give. I want to leave this Friday (then of course it's 2 weeks school holiday, so they will have until the 17th April to find a replacement for me).

If anyone knows, I'd be grateful!
Thanks,
FBB
(PS: I have also posted this in the 'Lone Parents' topic)

our playgroup has a helper who was a school dinnerlady prior to coming to us. I think she had to give a week or two.

I guess all you can do is ask the person who deals with personnel at your school - and hand in your notice asap.

Thanks for your speedy answer. It turned out to be one weeks' notice, and if I hand my written notice in today they will waive a couple of days off it so I don't have to go back after Easter hols. [Need a thumbs up smiley!!]
