Am about to ask work if i can change my hours slightly and perhaps do a few 8 hour days and a couple of shorter days from home.

wondered what happens re holidays e.g. if you work from home on friday 8am to 2pm and want a friday off does that count as a full days holiday or are holidays counted in hours?

yours, confused!

Hi cocopops,

I think a lot of companies may be different but in my case I went back to work only 4 days a week and took Fridays off completely. So my holidays went from 20 per annum to 16 worked out by dividing the 20 days by 5 then multiplying by the 4 days. Although you sound as though you will be putting in the same hours just spreading your time differently? If that is the case I dont see how they could reduce what you already get.

I used to do condensed hours, i worked 4x9.25 hr days so it was still full time. Our co. gives 6 weeks leave so i got 24 days off but they were 9.25 hr days.

I guess if you are styaing as FT hrs overall then your holiday amount will be unchanged but converting it all to hours rather than days off might be the best way if you dont work the same every week.

I guess ask your personnel dept.
