Pregnant during probation period

Looking for some general advice.

I started a new job at the beginning of May and have recently found out I'm pregnant with twins. My 3 month probation is due to end on 8th August and I will be 12 weeks that week.
The pregnancy is a complete surprise as we've had lots of fertility issues and we were starting to consider IVF.

It's a very laid back place in terms of no HR or clear employee guidelines. My question is do I request a 3 month probation review meeting and deliver my pregnancy news then or try and hold off a bit longer? The problem with that is I'm already starting to show and won't be able to hide it for much longer! Plus, although my job is partly desk bound, it can be quite physical at times for e.g being on my feet for long periods, moving furniture / carrying heavy boxes etc - I manage events.

I've no reason to think I wouldn't pass the probation - I think I've more than proven my worth to the business - I'm just paranoid that they may try and find a reason to dismiss me if they find out about the pregnancy before I've officially "passed".

I've worked out my dates and I just about qualify for statutory maternity pay (by a few days) and I really do need it, so need to try and protect it.

I just think it will look a bit odd if I have my probation review meeting and then have another meeting a couple of days later to inform the pregnancy news!

Any advice on this would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

If you do manual work it needs to be risk assessed. Obviously that can't happen until you tell them.

Thanks - so am Iim breach of anything by not telling them before I'm 12 weeks?

You would be where I work, check your contract/company policies, ours is that you have to report it as soon as you know for risk assessment, we have chemicals as well as manual handling.

I've never seen any policies! HR is not a strong point. I think I'm going to have to do some stealth investigating - thank you

You are not obliged to tell them about your pregnancy yet. Most people wait to sell after 12 weeks.
I would do your review and then inform them.
They can't consider your pregnancy in the review but I wouldn't take a chance.

You have to inform them by 25 weeks. I would have your probation meeting and then tell them.
