I think I'm having a mid life crisis. I still haven't returned to work and my son is now one. I have been a beauty therapist for 19 years. I've always wanted to do something else but always end up back in beauty.
I have 4 dc aged 12, 11, 4 and 1. Beauty is just not family friendly. Salons want late nights and weekends. With a husband that works away a lot it's just not practical.

I've narrowed down what I want to do to three options.
Option one) Full time study at the OU studying English Language and Creative Writing.
Option two) Part time study with the OU and doing a bit of Beauty from home.
Option three) Apprenticeship in School Business Admin at a local school. 30 hours per week. 15 month apprenticeship.

My head is fried I just don't know what I want anymore. I think it's because ds4 doesn't sleep well at all. I want to do something to just get a bit of me time and some head space.

Hey up

I don't know if this is useful or not, but when I wanted to return to work, I went to see these guys: www.inspira.org.uk/returning-to-work-after-children - I don't know if they operate in your area but there's probably a similar thing where you live.

They do all sorts of stuff like careers advice for adults (about career changes and stuff) and free workshops to help you sort out your CV, confidence building - all kinds of things. They were really great and they helped me decide what to do with myself career wise :)

If the apprenticeship is on offer to you I would do that.
