Returning back to work

Hey everyone I'm so confused as to when I return back to work. I started my smp on 24.11.16 and I plan on taking the full 39!weeks of pay, but when do I go back to work??? Also before going on maternity I was working full time. I was thinking of going back to work for 16 hours instead as I'm a single parent. I have two children one 3 years old and the other 6 months. If I go back to work at 16 weeks what am I entitled to, will I be better off for the time being.

If you're going back to work at 39 weeks then you're going back on 24 August. Unless you have already told your employer when you plan to return to work, you need to give 8 weeks notice to do so. This means that if you plan to go back at 39 weeks you should have already given notice.
