Temping mummy - advice needed

I have been working in a school kitchen but am considering going back into the office workforce as a temp. I am trying to work out the pros and cons of doing this especially since I don't have any family to look after my daughter (going into year 3 next year) to help with childcare. What are your experiences with this? Having always worked where I could take my daughter to and from school the considerations for logistics are doing my head in. I don't want to be a burden on friends but I do have some friends who I know will be able to help out a bit. Childcare is only one consideration though. I will be working as a secretary/receptionist and just wondered how everyone copes with school holidays and half term. On what I will be earning, I can't afford to put my daughter into childcare all school holidays long, nor do I want to if I can possibly help it. I had thought of possibly only working term time and putting money by for the rest of the time. Only working during school holidays/half term if I really need to. I also wonder if I will be getting enough continuous work... I don't earn very much in the school kitchen and could basically earn the same amount with 1 - 2 weeks temping work. What's your general experiences with being a temping mummy? Thanks in advance
