Hey everyone,
Just wondering if anyone here knows anything about clinical coding within the NHS. I have an interview for a Band 3 Trainee clinical coder position next week and I'm quite nervous and not entirely sure what to expect.
My email stated that I would have an interview and also tests on 'Basic Anatomy & Physiology' and 'Coding Awareness'. Now, A&P I'm fine with, having just completed an Medical Administration (AMSPAR) course, my knowledge of basic A&P and medical terminology is pretty fresh. However, what I'm not certain about is 'Coding Awareness', what are they expecting me to know for this? Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Furthermore, if anyone is actually a coder and can give me more of a detailed insight into your daily routine that would be great. I've researched a lot into the role and the coding classifications, however, it never hurts to get other perspectives.
Thank you so much!
