Childminder healthchecks

I understand that you have to undergo a healthcheck to become a registered childminder. Does anyone know what these consist of and how detailed they are?

I am a reg. childminder and have been for about 6 years and I have never heard this.

Are you meaning just for new ones?

I had my OFSTED inspection 2 months ago and nothing was said then.

Do you mean the form that you have to get your Dr to fill in? I think that is the only thing I can think of. You have to go to your GP and give them the form and ask them to complete it (basically if you have had any illnesses in the past 5 years etc) They also make a charge for this usually.

Afree with mumor2 its a form that the doctor has to fill in for you

I had the form filled in by the GP too (as did my DH) and despite both having reasonably major health problems - no-one seemed to object....
