How much pay for 25 days holiday?

I've accrued 25.5 days holiday while on mat leave but am not returning to the same employer so will be paid for the days.

I can't work out if it will be more or less than a normal month's salary, I'm getting into a pickle trying to work out what happens to the weekends (i.e. does a month's salary include weekends too? An annual figure simply divided by 12 and therefore including payment for weekends)Hmm

Thank you!

You don't get paid for weekends. 25.5 days are 25.5 x 7.5 your hourly rate.

Thank you!

I don't have an hourly rate, just an annual salary... not sure how that would be worked out?

If you work 5 days a week, divide your annual salary by 260 (working days in the year) and times the day rate by 25.5 - this will give you your before tax pay.

It depends on your contract - if you're a teacher then the divisor is 365 rather than 260 even though you work a 5 day week.

Generally though, Santanico is spot on with that calculation.

Annual salary ÷ 52 ÷ contracted weekly hours eg 40 or 37.5 = hourly rate

Hourly rate X amount of hours worked in a day eg 8 or 7.5 x 25.5 = your answer
Obviously use your actual contracted weekly hours
