wine tasting work would be evening work though (you could get a job somelier in a restaurant).

Ooh, I thought you were starting a wine tasting club there for a minute! I thought, that sounds right up my street!

sorry, suzy: I meant most of the jobs would be as someliers in restaurants, and they work in the evening. Jobs at importers etc would presumably go to people who have been one of those for a few years. I really don't think you'll find a "school hours" job in it.

what other courses did they have?

RanToTheHills · 22/03/2007 19:36

unless you want to work in Oddbins or the like?

RanToTheHills · 22/03/2007 19:37

would love to do this too but AFAIK it's all about contacts, lots of slog in retail trade working yr way up.

SenoraPostrophe · 22/03/2007 19:37

but you don't need a course in wine to do that, and I doubt there'd be many school hours jobs.

DrMarthaMcMoo · 22/03/2007 19:39

Not a job for me...you have to spit it out

RanToTheHills · 22/03/2007 19:40

actually on a whim while on mat leave,I wandered into my local branch and they do send all staff on wine-tasting courses (cert I think). But yes, school hours notthe most likely times for wine buying!

suzycreamcheese · 22/03/2007 20:11

well gulping the stuff now ..a crisp to the point pinot grigio if interested..
...just had horrid rash scare!..and can safely rule out looking for any medical related work, nerves in shreds here!!

i was wondering about wine importers and the like..never thought about the wine stores..
but they must need buyers too!

am going to ring college about course anyhow for more details info etc

..its just one of my 'ideas' for things to do when school begins and so hours are uber important....
