Hi. Need a bit of advice re my Revalidation, which is due in September. Having an awful time at work & I'm really considering handing in my notice & possibly joining an Agency in the Autumn. Does anyone know if my Revalidation would be affected by this? TYIA

I have just completed my revalidation and actually the process is relatively straight forward. It has been designed so that nurses working exclusively through an agency can revalidate without complications.

You need to have someone who will sign you off and have a formal discussion with - this can be a nurse, another clinician or a non clinical manager. Are you friends with someone in your current place of employment who would be willing to do this for you?

The key thing with revalidation is to start thinking about it early - especially the feedback & reflective incidents you need to write about.
The paperwork took me only a couple of hours but I had already decided which events I would reflect on

Hope this helps

Thx so much Someday. If I leave I'm not entirely sure I would have someone to stand over my Revalidation. But that's all good to know. I need to make a start on it now I guess. Glad yours went well!

hi I completed mine in February, and I think the biggest problem agency nurses have is finding enough classroom hours, other than that it is all covered by just working. I would imagine as you have been in permanent employment that your classroom hours would be covered already.

it's all very simple and easy to fill in. good luck xx

Can't you just get it signed off before you leave?

I've just done it a month early for a Staff Nurse who's leaving at the end of the month and is due to revalidate in September so that she doesn't have to go into a new post needing to find a confirmer.
