New business- when is better to start?

I'm starting an ironing business. My current job ends at the end of June. I was intending to advertise for business from the start of July however we have a family holiday in the middle of the month. Would it be better to wait to advertise when we get back? I don't want to start out with a reputation for being flakey if I take work for the first couple of weeks and then have to tell people I won't be available for a week.

Take a break and start in earnest when you get back so you can really concentrate on building up a client list and getting established. Be prepared to not have another holiday for a few months, though!!

Good luck ...

Thank you mrsexpo, oh there definitely won't be another holiday for a long time! Grin This is the first in 9 years and it's on a 0% credit card.
