Not sure I need a website at this stage but don't want to rule getting one in the future. Anyone have a clue about the best way/cheapest way of doing this. Thanks

I've done mine through 1&1 . I have a website and a few email addresses in the format you described. It was free for 1st year and now £8ish per month.

Thanks Greta. Will check that one out

I used go daddy domain name search here to buy the domain and then GMail to set up the email, although I think you can do it possibly cheaper using hotmail.

Does anyone have the link to do this through hotmail/outlook? I tried and couldn't find it anywhere. Gmail costs about £3 a month for the most basic one I think. Not much but everything adds up with the website too, for a small startup without an income yet! Hmm

A quick google has found these instructions I think also you can add other users and aliases (so bussinessname.co.uk and .com) without extra cost where as google seem to charge...for this reason I think that in time I will switch to hotmail at some point. I should have referred to my IT department (DH) before I set mine up but the were being slow and I wanted to crack on.

Google may have other benefits that are worth paying for though?

I just set up a domain for about 3 quid a year and have auto forward set up on the server and my outlook settings set so it masks and looks like I'm sending from the co address. Works really well and doesn't require a monthly fee.
