Tis a job I am easily qualified for but I have a slight impediment in the form of a bump that will turn into a baby in July - so I hope they are open-minded to that!

Sadly no Marina - library is now too far away from where I live to make it financially viable (er, I moved, not the library )

The pies argument might wash at interview but I suspect they might wonder a bit when I produce a baby in July

Just say, gosh, I don't remember eating that though - I am a perennial optimist

It went very well - I certainly came away from the interview feeling I had given it my best.

However I've just had a phone call to say I didn't get the job

ask for feedback...get them to discuss your application, and go through the person spec so they can be specific about why you didn't get it if it was such a good match...

Really very sorry though Miaou - it's horrid to do a great interview and then find it still isn't enough...

mmm, I did wonder about that - I might see if I can do it informally (it's basically a village-based charity admin job and I was interviewed by three people on the committee, two of which are my neighbours!) - the lady who called me was so apologetic about not giving me the job that I didn't have the heart to put her on the spot and ask why

That does muddy the waters. I am guessing you will inevitably know the successful candidate too...

Yes - I am interested to see which of the other two (both blokes) got the job! I know if I see one of the interviewers he is quite likely to spill the beans without me asking

All is not lost - I have an interview for another job in a couple of weeks (18 hours a week, better pay, local too) - fingers crossed!
