I run a small business which on the plus side means I gen. only work 3 days a week and am my own boss, and gen lovely staff who I have been friends with for years. On the downside, work until at least 8pm up to 3 nights depending on other staff holidays etc (this means dont see dd after dropping at school till next day), loads of hassle from the odd employee, hassle from odd clients ie gen stress of being the person that the buck stops with etc. I actually make very little income because I dont work full time. We have talked about just selling up for years (every time things get particularly stressful1) but I never really thought DH meant it, tonight he said that he really has meant it for the last 4 years (we are good at communicating eh!). If I sold up I would be less stressed, more time for kids/dh etc but what about the staff (although would sell as going concern, they might not like new owner), dont really want to be at home 24/7 as kids now all at school and dont fancy working for anyone else now (although quite fancy the challenge of doing something different!). To make matters more complicated I employ my father (who is semi retired) and my parents are temporarily living in the accomodation at the practice having sold their house (but has been over a year now!). DH says we could employ my father to do all the stuff at home that he (DH) is useless at, but that might seem too like charity. But whats the point of me working for nothing?
Any one fancy the challenge of giving me some advice?
