Has anyone successfully got a job after doing courses?

I need a part time job. Not having any luck and have been out of work for a substantial amount of time. I've done 1 course, am in the middle of another and booked into another when this one finishes. There have been loads of people there who have done these courses, none of them seem to have found jobs.

Has anyone actually done courses and been employed because of them?

I did a pitman training bookkeeping course after being a sahm for 12 years. I found a part-time bookkeeping/admin job for a local business a few weeks after finishing the course. I think the volunteering I did alongside the course also helped a huge amount too. I did admin work for a charity & volunteered at my son's school library, each was for 4 hours per week over several months. The course & volunteering together meant I had plenty of recent things to put on my cv; maybe try to find some relevant volunteering to do along side your course?

I can't do anything alongside. I take DCs to school, go to, course, leave, pick them up. I have a long term illness so I'm bloody knackered at the moment as well. I have applied for some volunteering stuff which I want to do when I have finished my courses but after applying for 2, one was withdrawn, one doesn't start until October, I applied for the details of 4 others and the organisation are now saying I should go and see them as I am asking for a few! It's only because so far, they have been crap at actually supplying the roles they are advertising.

I have done some voluntary stuff in my DCs school but they don't seem to want the help at the moment.
