Situation:
2 school sites (although one foundation school) merging into one. 2 sets of kitchen staff currently but only requires one set on merger. Sites less than 1/2 mile apart currently. The kitchen catering are outsourced so not employed by the school.
Currently the catering company are claiming that the closed site staff will be made redundant without putting both sets of staff at risk and identifying selection criteria.
Many of the parents wish to retain the services of the redundant head cook. Can the school influence the catering company on redundancy criteria and process?
