Where do you search for jobs?

Hi everyone,

I've been really unhappy in my job since I started just over a year ago. I actually like the place I work but not the role but there just doesn't seem to be any jobs coming up so I feel like I might need to leave altogether. I don't know where to start - where do you all look for jobs?

xx

It will really vary depending on what type of job/sector you're looking in. More information would help us to give useful answers.

Indeed

LinkedIn.

Indeed, it seems to be the site that picks jobs up from all over the place.

Monster, Hays, Reed, Michael Page, Indeed. Just Google jobs, there are literally dozens of sites that have jobs on, and also recruiters. Oh, and LinkedIn.

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 22/04/2017 19:36

A lot of these are absolute crap. I find Indeed the best of a bad lot in that it does seem to post genuine opportunities. Most of the others seem awash with recruitment agencies fishing for potential applicants to increase their pool. That's my perception anyway - even on Universal Jobmatch.

Really difficult to know. NHS Jobs and the TES are the go-to sources for health / education jobs but I've been staking Indeed daily for 18 months or so now and everything seems to be very low paid. Watching to see if any other suggestions come up.

Reed and Totaljobs.

I have no issue with being put in a recruitment agency's pool - it means I'll be on their radar when they get a job in.

I use sector specific websites rather than general ones because there's a lot of crap on the main ones. What's your field?
