To all you mums giving up work
I have one thing to say,
How glad I am for you and yours
And on that faithful day,
When the alarm rings and you switch it off,
ponder for a while,
You can wear whatever you like,
That should bring a smile.

Your life begins here, rejoice! Shout!
and think of jealous me,
Your life begins to day
Why? Because now YOU ARE FREE!!

Fantastic BR! It's my last day at work today before going on maternity leave, so I found that poem even more meaningful. I'm going to set my alarm for 6am as usual tomorrow.... just so I can turn it off!

bunnyrabbit · 04/07/2004 14:18

Oh and I meant to put Fateful not Faithful..

I can't wait BR!! I've just had enough of this place. If I wasn't stopping now I think I would've ended up saying something I'd regret to Bovrilman and the Crapmonster!

I'm leaving FOR EVER on Thursday - I will never ever do this s**te job again.

bunnyrabbit · 04/07/2004 14:22

Are you going back after your maternity leave?

good for you kaz.. spare me a thought. If everyone thinks of me I might win the lottery!!

Yeah BR, but hopefully only 3 or 4 days a week. And only 1 or 2 of those will be here onsite. I'm only here fulltime at the moment as I couldn't commute whilst pregnant.

But if we win the lottery....

Toothache · 04/07/2004 14:23

Whoa! Great minds think alike BR!

bunnyrabbit · 04/07/2004 16:07

Could be an omen....

I am officially on a 5 year career break from next Wednesday That means that while I'm off work for 5 years, I am still employed (civil service) although it's a shame I don't get paid for it lol

I have to say I can't wait and am counting down the days (may start counting down hours soon though )

cuppy · 05/07/2004 01:32

Well think of me everyone -I'm back to work on Monday after 6 mths maternity.

bunnyrabbit · 05/07/2004 12:06

Are you back working full time cuppy?

BR

No , just part time Bunny, well 3 days a week , 8am -- 5pm. Am trying to make the most of my last few days

bunnyrabbit · 06/07/2004 11:54

Chin up ... that's 3 days at work an 4 days with baby, that's what I would be doing in an ideal world .

If you need to chat you know where we are. My first few weeks back were hellish and talking on mumsnet helped me get through it.

Thanks Bunny Rabbit. DD will be with my neice for the first two weeks while I settle back in , and then Im taking her with me - Im a nanny. I know Im alot more fortunate than lots of other mums , who cant be with their babes. Still miss her for those first weeks though.
