A nice polite resignation letter

That does not totally give away the fact that I think they are incompetent.
Meant to work 3 months notice, can I shorten this with accrued holidays? It will leave them in trouble as I am awkward to replace. Don't want to be in a position to lose my rag and reveal my true thoughts.

I work in hr, we see all sorts of resignation letters. Usually something like this is fine "please accept this as formal notice of my resignation. Thank you for the opportunities."

You can shorter notice period if they agree, usually they know that holding you to the full notice period when you have made it clear you want/need to leave earlier will make them realise its counter productive as your performance will drop whether consciously or unconsciously,

Thanks, people are leaving at an alarming rate.
They have put a few on disciplinary measures to try and prevent them .

Anything that's factual, just stating you are tendering your resignation from x date can't be viewed as being critical, as it's just stating the situation and is a contractual obligation as you need to say when the notice period starts so they can recruit your replacement.

If you are on 3 months that normally indicates they need more time to go through the recruitment process

You don't need to explain why you're resigning, just that you are.

My last resignation was for similar reasons- so I just said "please accept this as notice of my resignation. Under the terms of my contract, my last working day will be x."

I then talked to my manager about using holiday etc to cut the notice period short.

Nice short resignation sent.
Disciplinary started by manager two up from me.
Nice e-mail by manager one up from me.
Disciplinary dropped by HR.
The place is bonkers, I have made the right decision.

They tried to start a disciplinary because you resigned?! Jeez, you definitely made the right choice. Good luck with your remaining time.
