Work

Back to work after 6 months

I've got myself into a total state about going back to work :(

I've been offered a 3 day role on really decent pay to go back to work 3 days in a couple of weeks when my little one is 6 months old.

We could afford me to have another 3 months off but 3 day roles aren't very common in the industry I work in so there are no guarantees I would get a 3 day role or at the same rate if pay. I'm absolutely devastated at the though of leaving my little one so soon as we will just be starting weaning and he might not be sitting up, crawling etc by then but it seems the logical thing to do to guarantee us time together in the long term.

I don't know what to do. I'm an emotional wreck about it all. I'm trying to persuade myself I'd still feel like this if I had 9 months off but I don't know if I would :(

Take it, you would feel the same at 9 months and this way you guarantee more time with DC in the long run!

I had no financial choice but to go back after 6 months- you'll be fine.

It's not uncommon to return to work after six months. Most do where I work as you loose your technical skills quickly.
