Interview for Classroom Assistant!

Argh I have an interview for a job as a classroom assistant, I was quite shocked to find a medical info form I have to fill out wanting to know my height, weight, number of visits to doctor in last year and reasons, if I drink/ smoke, if I take any pills or ointments etc etc etc.

FGs I am not going to tell them about going to the doctor with thrush, cheast infections and all that. Is this normal? Why should I divulge every detail if it doesn't affect my work? .

I am begining to doubt if I want this job now, I am being pressurised as the hours are perfect, school holidays off, but do I want to do it, where do I go from there, I don't think I want to be a classroom assistant for the rest of my days. I am studying with the OU going down the science/ environment/ geography route. Other jobs are probably going to involve MIL doing a bit of after school care, but I was hoping to earn more money and have better career prospects than if I work P?T as a classroom assisitant. Don't get me wrong I know I would quite enjoy it, I trained as a Nursery Nurse.

BUMS!

When i have had job interviews as a teacher I have always had to fill in a medical questionnairre and so did my dh when he had job interviews a s a teacher. I think it might be an LEA thing so pretty normal.

I have always had a basic questionnaire but this seems more than normal. Our LEA does a basic one, do you have a history of heart probs, high BP , depression etc and then you speak to occupational health if you are going to get offered the job.

Thanks I just find it very intrusive and feel the urge to write "mind your own business" .
