Where is the best place to find a part time job?

i have registered to the job centre and they are helping me, but i want to look for myself too.

Ive looked at a few agencies on the internet but when you do a search for part time jobs, the majority are coming up full time... Its so annoying

Where is the best place to look?

jc, depends what sort of job you're after

what about the free local papers?

You could try the public sector. Look at your county council and district council websites.

Ive looked at both of them. I think the papers are probably my best bet, but because i dont drive it really limits me to where i can work

It seems impossible!

Im looking for something either retail or basic office work

I would register with some local agencies. I find the internet a bit hit and miss in that applications online seem to often disappear into cyber space and you often see the same job keep reappearing so I wonder how many are genuine. You can of course do an e-mail alert online where you get daily alerts that match your specific criteria.

Other than that, contact all the shops you could travel to and send a letter to local companies you may be interested to see if they have anything available you may be suitable for

I would suggest that you contact a few local supermarkets. They seem to be best equipt for par-time jobs. You can pretty much choose school hours (if you've got kids the think of) I wouldn't recommend call centres, they are not very flexible.....Good luck

Agree phone on spec to the supermarkets and any big department or chain stores localy, any where you fancy working, it won't hurt to give them a phone.

I also check the JCentre website every night so I get to see the jobs straight away and can keep track of whats on the go.
