Hi,

My additional mat leave ends in august and I will not be returning.

I have worked out that accure 2.5 days holiday inc bank hols per month.

Do I need to wait until July to give my months notice to be able to keep my full holiday allowance or could I give notice now and work would give me my allowance up to august?.

TIA

I worked out the holiday owing to me and the date I would need to return to work if I took the holiday. Then handed in my notice exactly 3 months before that date. So, maternity ended 10th August, I had accrued something like 6.6 weeks holiday, would have been due to return 29th September, so resigned 29th June.

Some companies might just pay all accrued holiday as a lump sum and accept resignation at the end of your maternity?

Should add, if you do it my way, you need to book the holiday in the 'correct' way for your company as they may have rules such as you need to give certain amount of notice for long amounts of holiday.
