Job share - job descriptions

If you are job sharing with another person and have the same job title - should you have the same job description or different ones?

Depends how the job is being shared. If both are doing exactly the same tasks and responsibilities only one of them is doing it Monday and Tuesday and the other one is doing it Wednesday and Friday, then yes you'd expect the job descriptions to be the same.

But sometimes tasks which would be one job if it were full time might be split into two jobs to enable a job share, so in that situation normally there'd be a core set of tasks which both do, but other specific things that one person or the other is responsible for - these would be things that normally don't need to be done 5 days a week.

So you could have two admin assistants but some of their responsibilities be different, therefore different job description.
