Company stopping enhanced maternity pay

I joined a company a few years back that seemed, and claimed to be, very family friendly.

We've just been told that the enhanced maternity pay (12 weeks full pay) is being removed as they're employing too many women to make it affordable.

I realise this is a business (money driven) decision, but I feel very sad that they're doing this. I'm also wondering if anything else I valued will be changed (part time working etc). Has anyone else experienced similar?

That is shit :-(

My company just does stat but it's been proven that enhanced means staff are more loyal.

Bit shortsighted for company to change but I assume they are looking at money to 'save'

Yeah :-(
I'm not convinced that the amount they'll save is anywhere near the amount they'll lose through poor staff retention/employee dissatisfaction etc, but obviously it's not up to me!
