Medical Lab Assistant....Would they really employ someone inexperianced etc

There is a job on hospital site for a Medical Lab assistant, it's 5 mornings a week, and is working in the lab screening newborn blood test samples.

It says the job is level 3 but then says pervious lab experience would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be given.

So do you think they would really give someone with no lab experience or science qualifications a chance ??

I am skeptical and wondering if i'd be wasting my time even filling the form out, sounds too good to be true, but I do fancy it.

Why not go for it, no harm in trying.

My first proper job when I left school was a lab assistant, I was given full training. Sometimes people like to train you their way rather than have some know-all coming in doing things a different way

Good point, hadn't thought of that. I know I am quick to pick things up and so I wouldn't mind doing whatever training they asked me too, am just not sure if I am aiming to high really, I mean I have no qualifications above a C grade and the 2 C's I do have are Textiles and English Lit GCSE's.

i know for a fact that nmost of the staff are trained when they get the job, with no previous experience

Well they take on unqualified phlebotimists to take the samples and train them on the job.
