Slivers of Time

Did anyone else hear about this new employment initiative on radio 4 this morning? The idea is that you can sell your time for short periods, at short notice( eg a couple of hours on a Tuesday morning) , to earn money, instead of working in a conventional job. You register with an agency, set your hourly rate and state when you are available. This is then matched with requests for staff from local employers. details here
Think it has been trialled in East London. Sounds like a good idea for mums who don't know form week to week, day to day when they could work, but would like to earn some cash when they can.

Never heard of it before but it sounds like a good idea. I imagine it would work well in highly populated areas.

I heard it, and it sounds like a really good idea.

Better suited to citydwellers I would think.

It takes me upwards of an hour to reach civilisation

Apparently you would say how far you were willing to travel and build that into your rate - so £hourly rate plus cost of bus ticket/train ticket/travelling time.

Wonder if it will take off?

Yes I heard this, thought it sounded a really good idea

Sounds good. I thought of doing some consultancy work if I don't go back Full Time but I never considered an agency - thats baby brain for you!
