Questions to ask new employer?

Hi all, I've tried to search for something similar but nothing came up, so if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it. I'm looking for questions I should ask a new potential employer for an interview next week, to get a good idea of the company, the workplace culture, the people etc. I have researched the company online and all seems fine so far.

The place I worked for previously was honestly horrible (working hours, the people, IT systems etc.) and I want to make sure I avoid that this time. I'm hoping asking better questions at interview will help with that. Any suggestions?

If you want my cynical view, take any answers about attitudes to work life balance, working long hours, flex working, Technology systems processes and so etc with a massive pinch of salt.

They will paint the picture they want you to see.

Good that you have done your research on their public website, from that you'll be able to tell if you like the industry sector.

A couple of useful and pertinent questions might be

"how do you make sure the women in your workforce are as exposed to great career opportunities as men?"

And "can you give me any indication of the types of projects this role would be involved in, now and in future?"
