Does anyone make money from blogging?

I'm just trying to suss out what's worth bothering with and what isn't wrt wfh income sources. Any advice gratefully received.

All I know is its best to stick to something that you are passionate about otherwise it will be difficult and likely become a chore. Same with youtube channels although youtube is being awkward with people at the moment.

Youtube is being awkward in what way?

I think blogging requires a lot of work, and could take a long time to come close to making enough money to make it worthwhile.

There can be money in youtube...but it also takes a long time, even more hard work and realistically requires expensive equipment if you want to be producing anything of decent quality.

Plus, the hate floating around in the comments of blogs and vlogs I follow would absolutely crush me. I don't know how they take that and keep going.

Awkward as in randomly closing accounts, changing criteria without mentioning it, altering view counts, changing how subs work and basically becoming a large pain in the backside for many.

It also requires around 10,000 views/subs to get monetisation for blogs with some companies.

What I hate about bloggers is the blogger begging bowl....

I really dislike being asked for freebies or discounts so that they can review my product. Just no. If you like it so much go and pay for it like everybody else...!

I have been to a few bloggers events and it is a bit too grasping for me.

If you were doing it for items/places/personal thoughts/fashion that you were doing anyway then fine... but anything which is an advertorial I distrust right away and so wouldn't give you the follow/clicks.

I've found the easiest way on blogging to make money is with Amazon afffiliate links, review of products or cooking stuff with list of equipment below with links works far better then Google Adsense etc
