Possible problem with reference for dd's apprenticeship offer

Dd offered a business apprenticeship, obviously subject to references. Currently at college and has given two names for references, which are fine, no problems there. However, she briefly had a waitressing job 2 years ago when she was 15, and basically said she worked there longer than she actually did (2 months longer I think) and it looks like her potential employer is going to contact them as well.
I feel that she has blown it now by not telling the truth on the application. She says she can't remember how long she was there, it was only a few hours a week, but it certainly wasn't as long as she said.
If the other references are good, has she got a chance? I'm pretty annoyed with her for being so stupid.

Lots of people "embellish" their cvs/job applications and some would see this as blatant lying and that she doesn't deserve the job.
But on the positive side, its not that serious, she did work there but not quite so long and it was 2 years ago so will they even remember her? They might not even pick up on it (hopefully) and if the other reference is glowing, then they might not be put off.
Good luck Smile

Thanks. I just wanted someone to tell me that things aren't as bad as I imagine. The job was in a restaurant and the manager can't even remember who dd is and whether he will even bother supplying a reference is debatable!

Would they really withdraw a job offer for, let's call it an error, on the application? It's only for an apprenticeship, no offence meant.
I personally don't think it's a serious matter. But because I imagine the worst about everything, I'd be a bit worried. Sorry. Hope someone comes along with a positive story.

Thanks. I am actually worrying myself to bits. What if they can't even be bothered to give a reference at all?
Wouldn't be surprised as they are quite disorganised. I wouldn't mind but dd didn't even give this place as one of her references but the potential employers policy is to contact the last job.
Sorry. I'm a bit too involved in this but would love some positive information 😔
