I got made redundant 6 weeks ago and got offered a job straight away so took it, been there 4 weeks and on a 3 mth trial. I was rang by a recruitment agency this week for an interview back in the industry I had spent 15 yrs in - I blagged time off by saying I had to attend my daughters college, now I've been offered a 2nd interview next week - what should I say to get some more time off? I think I may have accrued a days holiday in a month but not sure, but I don't want to annoy employer with time off if I don't get the job IYSWIM..??
Ideas?

Could you ask for unpaid leave for a hospital appt or similar?

Can you arrange the interview for the end of the day?

I don't finish til 5pm then an hours travel would make it late.

Would they be prepared to do the interview by phone or Skype?

No I'm due to meet one of the directors who will decide if I am suitable enough!

You could ask for half a day off for a 'hospital appointment' if you are worried about a full day when you've only worked there for a few weeks

nooo don't lie. One small lie often has to be backed up with more lies.

In your shoes id take a days leave for "personal" reasons.

Ask for holiday
If you leave and have been overpaid holiday you will have to at it back but it will be worth it if you get a better job
