I am currently on maternity leave from my job as an occupational therapist in the NHS. I have found out that my team is going to be cut in 6 months time. I may be supported to find another role rather than be made redundant as that makes more sense financially for the NHS, but nothing has been discussed with me yet. However I am wondering whether it is time to go in a different direction. I enjoy supervising people and wondered whether becoming a nvq assessor in health may be a good option for me. Could anybody give me any advice re training (I found a CAVA course which is online initially then provides 2 students to supervise, for a fee of approx £700). Does this sound a suitable course? Are there many jobs in the sector? Does it allow flexibility? (I currently have 2 children under 2). Is there the ability to progress? I would be really grateful to hear from anyone with experience in this area
