Well, my employer had organised a study day. We get £5 + for attending it if we are not working a shift anyway, so fair enough. If we cancel our attendance shortnotice then we will be charged the cost of the course.
Well....they cancelled it today (tomorrow was when it was taking place) and obviously it's now to late to cancel my chilcare arrangements (which due to Holidays are coming to more then it would have otherwise, anyway, of course...)....would I be within my rights to ask for some money put towards it, or is it tough luck now....I do begrudge putting my Kids into Nursery when I wuldn't have needed too, as well...it's mone isn't it...!
So, should I ask for them to pay towards it, or would that just be cheekey?

No reason why they should penalise you and not the other way round!

well...thanks for your messages...but, just got a call from nursery, that they had sorted it out, and it would be o.k. that I wouldn't bring them in, therefore don't need to pay!
Must say, I am realllly lucky with that Nursery, they always try to help, etc..., which is why I didn't want to put them out.
