First day/week advice?

Tomorrow I start the job I have always dreamed of and spent years getting to. A step up for me leading a large dept of 25 people but I know I can do it with some learning along the way. Been a while since I started somewhere new and just wondered if anyone had any advice?! Thanks

Only advice would be, do a lot of listening an not much talking! Good luck!!

Don't jump to make quick decisions. Take your time to reflect on what's working well, what's not working well. If you can find something easy you can change straight away, that's fabulous but listen and learn in the first few weeks and days. Talk to everybody on the team - your peers, your management, your clients ... get a feel for everything. Sometimes it's easy to be overly influenced by the people who talk the most in the early days. Be sure to give time to the people who are more reserved too. Good luck and have fun!
