Sorting my own mat pay. What do I do with the MATB1?

I work for a tiny company with 4 employees, of whom I am the only female and only one ever to have parental leave. I do all the admin/HR side of things so it's up to me to sort out my own maternity pay. I have just got my MATB1 ertificate from my midwife (I'm 30 weeks now) and haven't a clue what I'm meant to do with it. Someone I was talking to said I have to submit it to HMRC and fill in some forms but they didn't know any more. Starting to panic I've left it too late... Anyone else had to sort their own maternity pay? TIA

www.gov.uk/employers-maternity-pay-leave/entitlement
The info is all on the HMRC website
You need to keep the MATB1 form with the company records
If the company pays enough NI then it will get the Stat Mat Pay back automatically
If it doesn't then you have to write to HRMC (on behalf of the company) to get it repaid

Otherwise you just have to calculate your mat pay and ensure you input it correctly when you do your payroll and your online real time submissions

It's a payroll thing- do you normally do payroll?

Thanks for the replies. I have recently taken on all the admin side of things as there is nobody else! Good link AveEldon. I have used the calculator thing to find out how much to pay myself and as far as I can see, I just claim it back when I do the PAYE? (Company pays enough NI).
