Return to work

I've name changed for this just in case!
I'm after some advice re returning to work and what my rights may be! I'm pretty sure I know where I stand but also not sure if I am in the wrong!
Brief outline:
I was working full time
Has my first baby and returned to work three days a week in the same/very similar role.
Am now on maternity leave with second child
My boss has just implied that I will have to return to work full time as he has rights too and he doesn't have to give me a job unless I go back full time.
Surely this isn't right?if I could do the job part time before maternity leave I can go back part time?surely? And surely they have to at least give me a job back?
I'm not due back for a month or two but now quite worried!

Id the job isn't their anymore they have to offer you an alternative not the same hours though or even the same role

Hi thanks for the reply, this role was covered by someone full time and there are about 4 others in the office doing the same role still, full time though

Call Maternity Action. They are brilliant and will advise you
