Long story in a nutshell. Job in public sector, middle management. Built up contacts, work successfully with little supervision. Dept had a minor restructure resulting in more management and fewer low grades, eg administration. I used to report directly to the department Head, but now Ive been allocated a line manager. This person has taken most of my responsibilities from me. She has replaced me in meetings, she has met with the contacts I have built. She delegates all her admin to me. She chairs our team meetings, which I used to do. Now I'm taking the minutes.
Spoke with the Head, who said this was always "the vision". My salary remains the same but my responsibilities have been shifted.
No one consulted me. What can I do about this? I'm in the union, what will they do?
Or do I put up and shut up?
