ANybody work for themselves ...... ?

I am thinking of starting my own business.
But I am absolutely terrified ....

BUT ... I am sick to death with taking the safe option.

My kids are 11 and 13 and able to "cope without me" IYKWIM ...

I want to live a little and I don't want to think "what-if" in later years ....

HELP !!!

What are you thinking of doing? I worked for myself when the kids were very small, but I found it lonely and difficult. Mine are the same age as yours now, and I love working for an organisation, with other people, having nights out, going to conferences, commuting with a book... Don't think I could go back to working for myself.
