Working from home

Hi all,
I need a working from home, school hours job?? Am I asking for the impossible?
I have three children, 1 in school, 1 pre school and 1 just started nursery.
I work one day a week teaching a craft but it's just not what I want anymore (after 6 years).
I really want to do admin, basic finances type of role. I used to be a successful project manager within the voluntary sector but I just don't think I could get part time hours or would I want the stress.
I was made redundant from the sector when my son was born in 2009
Any advice? Anyone know how best to tackle this void in my life?

Are those virtual PA roles still a thing?

It is actually insane, in this day and age, that it is not the standard for jobs to be part-time and sometimes done remotely.

If I ruled the world, I'd make it a legal requirement that ALL jobs should be offered as part-time job shares as well as the full-time option.

I am sure there are loads of things you could be doing if employers were forced out of their comfort zone and enabled to support employees who have lives outside of work (like most of us do).

In the meantime... virtual PA? Part-time project manager? Social media management? Check out People Per Hour for other possibilities that might fit your skill set and interests.

I would have thought that building on your recent teaching experience would be better. Can you tutor the craft on a one to one basis or run workshops?

Is there any admin work at the college(?) where you teach the craft?

I figure if I work from home I can get more work. Our local town is likely to have much opportunity and therefore a commute will limit the hours I'm available. But no working from home isn't essential.

I don't want to continue the teaching and unfortunately it's a private business I teach for so no college involved. I already do 1-2-1 etc and just want to step away.

What about admin for one of the tutor platforms (tutorfair etc) as you have some background as a tutor that could help?

Nope no admin, I've tried that already and the owner would rather do it herself to save pennies.

I am in this exact situation. Except my oldest is in reception and my previous role programme manager.

Ive tried out people per hour - it is pointless - way too many people going for each job.

Bookkeeping is quite a nice idea.

Poocatcher yes I've had a look and thought the same.
My husband harps on about book keeping (he's an accountant!) but I can't afford to qualify as anything at the moment. Certainly until the childcare bills come down!!

I feel I've great transferable skills and know there are businesses who could do with a few hours help a week admin yet it's not worth placing an add or using an agency so they go without. I just don't know any business or business people in that situation.
