Using public speaking skills

I'm good at, and enjoy, speaking to groups and would like to use these skills in a work situation. I'm thinking of something like an Awareness Officer for a charity but these jobs seem few and far between.

Any ideas what I could do?

PR for Monsanto... or some other company that needs spokespersons.

Could you launch yourself as a speaker to talk on a particular topic? Or hone your skills by volunteering for a favourite charity and getting involved as a spokesperson. I do a lot of work for a charity and we don't have funds to appoint somebody just as an Awareness Officer.

You enjoy speaking to groups - do you like facilitation? Teaching? Or an organisation like www.speakers4schools.org/ that provides speakers (for free so no income for you) but would again give you the chance to get fantastically brilliant.

Politician?

Most organisations need somebody to speak from time to time but it might not be a full-time role.

Training.

Or set up as a trainer of public speaking.
