i clean for a couple who work full time each tuesday for 3.5 hours.

trouble is i keep having to let them down as myself or one or other of the kids keep being ill.

he sounded rather miffed on tuesday when i called to say i couldn't come and asked if i could do Thursday (today) instead but i couldn't.

now, he has just phoned to see if i can do tomorrow (which i can't) or saturday morning.

i don't like letting them down but i do have other stuff going on aswell.

is this a hassle i should get myself out of?

Our old cleaner used to turn up 2 weeks out of 3 and to be honest we got someone new because

a) we just didn't have time to do it ourselves

b) it would take longer to do the basics when she did turn up after a fortnight because the flat was obviously dirtier. She then didn't have time to do everything and we ended up in a flat that was slowly getting dirtier and dirtier.

If you can't commit then you should resign but if these have been one off issues that have just happened to arise at the same time then keep going.

it's my kids, they always seem to be poorly!
and there isn't anyone else to look after them.

i feel bad, they have friends coming saturday night and want a clean house but after the week i have had looking after sick children a saturday morning cleaning session is the last thing i want!
