Work not really into training however have recently been putting less experienced staff through qualification x which does not cost the company anything due to some funding obtained (however 12-18 month course rather than fast-track). I was asked if I wanted to do the same course which I explained was probably not at the right level as I am more experienced, therefore more useful to me and the business to do qualification y. This all seemed sensible and work said they would pay for my study. Now goalposts have changed and I will have to pay half of quite a hefty sum if I want to do qualification y. Feeling very disappointed about this and let down as I am one of the most experienced in the team and will probably have to do qualification x. I am not against taking a qualification but would rather do one that is more beneficial and also can be done in a more condensed time as I do not want to be studying for up to 18 months. With what I do for the business I also feel that it is only fair that work should pay for the course (as they have done before this free one came up), surely businesses can recoup training costs through the business as well as making employees pay them back if they leave? I am feeling really peeved about this and unappreciated. TIA for reading!
