Was it easy going back to work after being a SAHM

Quite frankly I'm am floundering my last job was 5 years ago. I am finding it hard to find a job between school hours or 9-6 at a push. I dont have much support as I am single parent father not in picture nobody to babysit. so cannot work evenings or weekends and most of every job on the market is looking for this sort of candidate.
How hard did you find getting a job?
How easy was the adjustment from SAHM to working?
If you have little experience how did you manage to get a job what helped you stand out to an employer?

This is the main reasons I kept working PT, even though childcare cost more than i earned sometimes, it was a way to keep my hand in, keep my contacts and be aware of future opportunities when I was ready to do more.

But that's irrelevant here, sorry! How long have you been away from paid work and what kind of work are you looking for? What are your qualifications?
