How much do antenatal teachers get paid?

I am thinking about becoming an antenatal teacher but can't find a payscale for how much I will earn if I train- can anyone answer me please?

Hi there ... I work as an NCT practitioner, not as an antenatal teacher, as a breastfeeding counsellor, and we're on the same pay scale.

Pay rates depend on whether you are central London, outer London or outside the M25.

It also depends on how many years you have been qualified/hours of practice. I'm now on the highest scale and I work in central London. It's £30+ per hour ... but bear in mind that I only get maximum 5, occasionally 7.5 hours per month. Antenatal teachers get more hours a month but depends on how many other ANTs in your area and how many classes run in your area.

You need to factor in the cost of training and buying equipment as well.

Yes good point about the cost of equipment and supplies for classes (flip chart paper, refreshments, dolls, leaflets etc). I don't do it as income as such ... all of the support and home visits that I do after the class are done as a volunteer.
