A few part time jobs

Does anyone on here have multiple jobs rather than one part-time or one full time? Or is anyone studying AND working part time? If so how do you manage it time-wise? Is it worth having different jobs or would you rather just have the one job?

Not currently but I have done it and quite enjoyed it. You have to choose carefully though. I worked in a museum 3 full days a week and in a theatre for 7 days in the evenings.

I could walk from the museum to the theatre and the walk was a good way to wind down and prepare for my next job. I liked the variation.

I work 2 jobs & Uni , dh works 2 jobs. I'm fed up of juggling now, dh too although his jobs fit together better than mine.

I have a friend (now retired) who had 3 part time jobs because she specialised in an area where typically each organisation requiring a specialist of this nature could only afford to employ someone for 1.5 or 2 days per week. So she had 2 jobs at 1.5 days per week and one job at 2 days per week.

Advantages - variety, never bored. If a boss was lacking in niceness or sanity then at least that was only ever for a fraction of the working week. Cross-fertilisation of ideas from different organisations, and the ability to do things in 3 slightly different ways at the 3 places and see which works best before settling on one and applying the best option to each.

Disadvantages: the workload of a 1.5dpw staff members is actually realistically 2 days worth. the workload of a 2dpw staff members is actually realistically 2.5 days worth. So she was fitting in 6.5 days worth of work every week and was permanently exhausted. When you work for the same employer 5 days a week it is normal for the workload to ebb and flow during the week and for some days to be busier than others. When an organisation only has you for 1.5 days a week they expect you to be operating at 100% full throttle throughout that time, and not many of us can keep that up throughout a working week.

I had three jobs once, situation similar to cex's friend.

Common in my line of work too. The job I did two set days a week in an office was absolutely fine, closed office door and went home.

The two jobs that I did from home at the same time proved to expect far more than the monthly hours (40 each ) I was contracted to do.

It can work, I made it work, but if you are wfh you need to keep strict time sheets and be prepared to have an awkward conversation!
