I work for a small family company. Therefore they don't have an HR dept and the owner just sorts that stuff out. I work 22 hours which I generally work over 4 days within school hours so 5.5 hours per day. They are extremely flexible and allow me to work my hours over 2 long days and one half day in the holidays to help with childcare, which I often take them up on. I get 4 weeks holiday, which in my case is 16 days. I tend to take my holiday in school hols and one week off means I take 4 days leave - simples! This year however we're going away mid week. Therefore, I plan to work a long day on the Monday (9 hours) and take the rest of the week off. I see they've put me down for 3 days leave even though I only actually owe them 13 out of my 22! Not sure how to broach this as they are very flexible, there is lots of give and take. For example, if I go to a school assembly they don't expect me to make up the time though I often do stay a bit later to finish something and won't claim the time.
I don't want to rock the boat as I know I'm lucky to have this job, but I'm not sure this is fair!
