Selection criteria

I applied for a job at a rival company to my last. I ticked all the right boxes. The role is less hours as im Returning to work after having a baby.

Last week I received an email saying a didn't meet selection criteria and can't reapply with company for 6 months. This rules out many companies and job roles!

How would you word an email about asking what is their selection criteria?

You're unlikely to be given any feedback, but I wouldn't be put off applying for other jobs if they come up - they can sift you according to their rules but can't stop you applying!

Thanks! I'm just left really baffed that I didn't even get an interview as I work in such a niche area.

Problem is sometimes they want to start someone from scratch.
